  • Danville schools squeaky clean in latest drug sweep

  • March 4, 2010

DANVILLE — Chief of Police Monte Vance reported that Danville Police K-9 Sgt. Tom Looney and Lasko, along with assistance of Coshocton County K-9 Deputy Dave Stone and Dingo, performed a surprise sweep of the Danville Local Schools on Wednesday morning for illegal narcotics and contraband.

The K-9 units first cleared the junior high school, then moved to the high school, which was also cleared.

An announcement had been made in each school via the public address system prior to doing the sweeps, giving any student in possession of illegal narcotics or contraband the opportunity to voluntarily surrender the items; students were given a 15-minute grace period to do so.
