MOUNT VERNON — Knox Community Hospital is lifting the age-specific visitor restrictions put into place last fall during the H1N1 outbreak. Given the lower incident rate of flu cases, it is no longer necessary to limit visitors by age to the facility or patient areas.
The Knox County Health Department and Knox Community Hospital continue to monitor the presence of flu in the community, and should any resurgence occur appropriate restrictions will be reinstated.
The community is encouraged to continue frequent hand washing and flu precautions.
