  • Fire claims one in Fredericktown

    A 45-year-old Fredericktown man was found dead in his burning mobile home late Friday evening. A neighbor called 9-1-1 to report smoke coming from the windows of the trailer at 42 Zent Ave. around 9:45 p.m. According to Fredericktown Fire Chief Scott Mast, the body of Richard Wolff was discovered about 4 feet inside the front door of the trailer as firefighters entered the home to put out the fire.

  • 9.7% unemployment for February

    The unemployment rate held at 9.7 percent in February as employers shed 36,000 jobs, fewer than expected. The figures suggested the job market is slowly healing but that significant hiring has yet to occur.

According to their motto, “There is no vaccine for the plague,” members of the “The Red Plague,” the Centerburg robotics club, are all set to infect the competition at the 2010 Buckeye Regional FIRST Robotics contest to be held March 25 to 27 at the Wolstein Center at Cleveland State University.
