  • BMV says ‘Beautiful Ohio’ plate a big hit

  • March 6, 2010

MOUNT VERNON — At first glance, it could be mistaken for a license plate from another state. But as they are becoming more widely seen, the state’s colorful new “Beautiful Ohio” license plate is being noticed. The plate features rolling green hills with a red barn under a blue sky, with a bright yellow sun spilling over the horizon. The silhouette of a city can be seen in the distance, as the Wright Brothers’ 1903 airplane flies through the air.

The Beautiful Ohio plate costs nothing extra and has been a big hit, according to Lindsey Bohrer, a representative for the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles.

“We have received overwhelming positive responses from Ohioans,” she said.
