MOUNT VERNON — Individuals, young and not so young, from all over came to Mount Vernon Nazarene University on Saturday to attend the first of four open debates in the District 18 Candidate Night series. All seven Republican candidates for the primary election — Beau Bromberg, Fred Dailey, Dave Daubenmire, Bob Gibbs, Ron Hood, Hombre Liggett and Jeanette Moll — were on hand to discuss their core values and beliefs, and to answer unscripted questions from the audience.

Warren Edstrom, Knox 912 member and moderator for the event, introduced each contender with a brief biographical sketch. He asked the candidates why they are running for the office and why people should vote for them
