FREDERICKTOWN — The Fredericktown Community Fire District Board officially welcomed the FCFD’s new assistant chief, Dwayne Canter, at Monday evening’s board meeting.

After taking his oath to serve from fire board member Andy Burns, Canter’s wife, Heather, pinned Canter’s new badge to his uniform. Also in atendance was Canter’s daughter, Brianna, 5. A member of the department since 1992, Canter, 40, said he looks forward to serving the department in his new role.

A maintenance technician for a heating and cooling company, Canter puts his mechanical expertise to use in his role caring for the department’s fleet of vehicles.
