  • Utica Council hears about athletic group

  • March 9, 2010

UTICA — Local resident Jace Cree addressed Utica Council members Monday night about the North Fork Youth Athletic Association.

Several community members, including Cree, have formed the youth athletic organization, with the goal of having an environment for youth from Utica, as well as surrounding communities, to play recreational sports. The association also seeks to promote camaraderie among players and prepare youth for entering high school-level sports.

The organization has contacted local community organizations as well as private groups for support of a facility. The association has football, baseball, softball, flag football, wrestling and basketball activities, said Cree, and is looking to bring all of the sports into a centralized location.
