MOUNT VERNON — Knox County is one step closer to being a part of the state’s new Location Based Response System, which is designed to make emergency dispatching in the county more accurate.

According to Scott Snider of the Knox County Maps Department, two bids were received for the contract to bring the new system to the county. According to Snider, one bid was for $200,000, the other for $204,000 from Digital Data Technologies Inc. of Columbus.
