  • City discussing options at intersection

  • March 15, 2010

MOUNT VERNON — Anyone who has tried to enter or exit the CVS parking lot at Vernonview Drive knows it can be pretty hair-raising when there is heavy traffic. The curb cut is just a few feet to the north of the intersection of Yauger, Vernonview and Eastwood — the street that slants from Coshocton Avenue to Vernonview Drive.

The city is aware of the problems this configuration causes and is looking into a number of solutions to fix the problem. The city is considering purchasing the small triangular property bounded by Coshocton Avenue, Eastwood Drive and Vernonview Drive. This could open up a number of options for fixing the traffic congestion that can strain the intersection.
