DANVILLE — On Monday, Danville Village Council agreed to enter into the electronic age.
Council passed a resolution allowing the clerk/treasurer to set up electronic payments for village utility bills such as electric, phone and gas, as well as monthly insurance premiums for employees.
Clerk/treasurer Laurie Vess said there would be no fee for setting up the electronic billing, and the process would save writing the check and postage costs on approximately 10 to 12 bills per month.
Village administrator Robert Shipley reported the carpet for the municipal building has been ordered and some of the preliminary work has been completed. The village had to pay 50 percent up front for the carpeting, and should get it in the next week or so.
