MOUNT VERNON — Vivacious, bright and tropical colors are in this spring for the new look in makeup fashion. As the sparks of spring light, the sunshine and warm weather are putting a focus on bold colors that not only make a statement, but set a trend.

“Things are tropical this spring,” said Brenda Stafford, senior executive sales director for MaryKay. “We pride ourselves in our company to stay on trend so we don’t look like we’re in the ’50s or ’60s, though some styles do come back around.”

What’s hot this season are vivid colors that add a sense of energy and life to today’s fashion. One of the biggest keys is the glisten and shine on lips and eyes.
