  • County investment board meets, selects 12-month CD

  • March 19, 2010

MOUNT VERNON — The county investment board met Thursday morning to select which bank will receive the county’s next certificate of deposit. Knox County Treasurer Sandra Mizer joined commissioners Robert Wise and Teresa Bemiller to review competing bids, but found that the investment market has not yet turned the corner from the sluggish rates brought on by the recession.

Out of the eight banks invited to bid on the county’s next $1 million investment, only three responded with quotes: Key Bank, First-Knox National Bank and Killbuck Savings Bank.
