MOUNT VERNON — It’s time to catch the wave of a good cause.

The Kokosing River Surf Club Band will perform Sunday in what is the first in a series of events being planned by the Leadership Knox project to raise money for sound and lighting equipment at ThePlace@TheWoodward, said Andrea Hayes-Caudill of the Mount Vernon-Knox County Chamber of Commerce.

The performance venue, part of the Woodward Opera House complex, was established in 2007 as a small theater/studio with the goal of building future audiences for the restored opera house. TP@TW’s immediate success prompted the Woodward Development Corp. to announce in 2009 that the theater will be kept as a permanent intimate performing space.
