  • Residents express concerns about possible development

  • April 6, 2010

FREDERICKTOWN — On Monday night, the village of Fredericktown held a public hearing regarding the proposed rezoning of the old middle school property on Taylor Street to a Planned Neighborhood Development. The proposed project is a condominium development of one-story units on 2.179 acres.

Few residents attended the meeting, but those who did listened, and some expressed their concerns.

Resident Virginia Thomas asked council whether the property would be sold or rented and senior living only, or whether it would be something different.

“We were told that it would be for seniors only and that it wouldn’t be for rent, and then I heard after the last meeting that all that has changed. ... I like to understand how this works,” said Thomas.
