  • Danville PD Sgt. Looney being investigated

  • April 12, 2010

DANVILLE — Danville Police Department Sgt. Tom Looney is on a paid administrative leave while his conduct as a police officer is being investigated, according to Danville Mayor Bob Dile on Sunday afternoon.

Although Dile declined to comment on specific details of the investigation, he did confirm that Lasko, the German Shepherd K-9 unit sworn in on Jan. 20, 2009, remains with Looney, who has been Lasko’s sole handler.

Calls to Police Chief Monte Vance to discuss police protection in Looney’s absence, as well as details of the investigation, were unreturned as of press time today.
