MOUNT VERNON — Learning history by doing history is what History Day competition is all about, and several Mount Vernon students put their skills to the test during a recent District 6 History Day competition.

While there, they showcased their scholarship, individual initiative and cooperative learning by presenting projects based on the main theme, “Innovation in History: Impact and Change.” Two Mount Vernon scholars — Jordan Shremshock and Amanda Tran — qualified to advance to the statewide contest to be held Saturday.
