MOUNT VERNON — The Mount Vernon Police Department is investigating an altercation that took place at the Alternative Center on Tuesday afternoon.

According to a MVPD report, a teacher reported seeing a student exit a vehicle and approach two other students with a baseball bat.

“An argument ensued, but no one was struck,” the report stated.

The instigator was read his Miranda right but refused to make a statement.

The incident, according to the report, resulted from issues with a girlfriend.
