  • Plowing with old-fashioned horse power

  • April 26, 2010

FREDERICKTOWN — Long before the invention of the motorized truck and farm tractor, the Percheron draft horse provided the power to build and feed the nation. This was your grandfather’s tractor.

Now the Percheron is mostly used as a recreational and show animal. But there are still some who use the power of the animal for its traditional function.

The Percheron Association of America, located on Quaker Road near Fredericktown, held a competition for the horses on Saturday.
