MOUNT VERNON — The termination hearing of Mount Vernon middle school science teacher John Freshwater will continue on Thursday as an open hearing.
Freshwater attorney R. Kelly Hamilton’s request to close the remainer of the proceeding has been denied by referee R. Lee Shepherd.
“The Freshwater motion to close the hearing has been denied. The hearing will continue as a public hearing,” Shepherd said this afternoon.
The hearing is scheduled to take place Thursday and Friday at the Mount Vernon City School’s Central Office at 300 Newark Road at 9 a.m. No additional dates have been confirmed.
