  • Hawaiian luau praises moms

  • May 8, 2010

MOUNT VERNON — As each mom entered Faith Lutheran Preschool on Friday, she was greeted by her child and presented with a colorful lei. The occasion was the school’s Hawaiian luau-themed Mother’s Day celebration. Four classes took that opportunity to honor moms and grandmas.

Five-year-old Abigail Craft told the News the celebration was held Friday because there is no school on Saturday. She also said Mother’s Day is important because “my mom is special and I love her.”
