CENTERBURG — Student achievements were celebrated when the Centerburg Board of Education met Monday. Board members commended Knowledge Bowl coach Ed Lambert and the Centerburg Knowledge Bowl team members for their outstanding accomplishment for finishing first for the third year in a row in the State Knowledge Bowl competition.
They also lauded the Trojan Crier staff for earning, the second year in a row, the highest honor given in the state — the All-Ohio Award — at the Ohio Scholastic Media Association High School press conference, and commended the First Robotics Club for winning the Buckeye Regional FIRST Robotics competition and qualifying for the 2010 International Championship competition.
In discussing district finances, Treasurer Ellen Scott said on Tuesday that she presented the board with a revised five-year financial forecast. It reflects no increase in state foundation funding for next year; if nothing changes, she said, the district will not have a negative cash balance until fiscal year 2013.
