  • Danville council looks at new signs for village

  • May 18, 2010

DANVILLE — “Signs, signs, everywhere are signs.”

Members of the Danville Village Council are looking at new signs to welcome visitors to the village, as well as signs pointing visitors in the right direction.

Council members discussed a conceptual idea for village limit signs that would be placed at the two entrances to the village on U.S. 62, and another on the north side of town where Ohio 514 enters.

“We want something legible that will put a good foot forward for the village,” said Mayor Bob Dile. “It’s a decision that will have a lasting impression on the village for years. We want to do it right, the first time, and have something that’s consistent with our area.”

The village is looking at wood-type finish for the sign, with earth-tone material. Also discussed were pillars for the signs, what would go on the signs and landscaping around the signs.
