MOUNT VERNON — Two local deputies were honored by the Central Valley Chapter of the Mothers Against Drunk Driving.
According to Knox County Sheriff David Barber, MADD held its annual Law Enforcement Awards Banquet in Newark on Friday. Police officers, deputies and state troopers from Knox, Licking and Fairfield counties were honored for their work in removing impaired drivers from Ohio’s roadways.
Knox County deputy sheriffs Ken Aurand and Jason Stachler received awards for having the highest number of driving under the influence arrests by the sheriff’s office in 2009.
Chapter President Donna Maines also presented an award to Sheriff David Barber in appreciation of his continued support of the Mothers Against Drunk Driving.
