HOWARD — East Knox students and staff will have a new superintendent in August, but will be seeing a face familiar to the district. At a special meeting Wednesday, the East Knox Board of Education formally accepted the resignation of Superintendent John Marschhausen, effective July 31, and unanimously appointed as his successor Matt Caputo, effective Aug. 1.
“It is always wonderful to cultivate leadership from within our ranks,” said board president Renee McDaniel, “and Mr. Caputo has demonstrated exceptional leadership and dedication in his position as elementary principal and his years as an educational leader in Knox County. Matt’s strong leadership abilities, and skill-set as an instructional leader, will provide focus and vision for our district for many years to come. He is very well qualified for the position of superintendent.
