MOUNT VERNON — Meeting in special session on Wednesday, the Governing Board of the Knox County Educational Service Center hired a new superintendent, Timm Mackley, effective Aug. 1 He will also serve as interim superintendent from June 7 through July 31.
In addition to having teaching experience, Mackley was a band director for 10 years, worked as a building administrator and served as Groveport’s superintendent for 16 years before retiring two years ago.
Mackley teaches graduate courses at Mount Vernon Nazarene University, where he also supervises student teachers. He is also a school improvement specialist working with the North Central Accreditation Association. He served on the Ohio Department of Education state diagnostic team which evaluated various schools’ programs.
