Boat catches fire at Apple Valley Marina
Three pontoon boats were destroyed by fire in the Apple Valley Marina early today. One of the boats caught fire and set fire to two others, according to Chief Larry Stimpert of the Eastern Knox County Joint Fire District. A fourth boat was slightly damaged. Because of their fiberglass construction and gasoline in the boats, firefighters used foam to extinguish the fires. The department received the alarm at 3:42 a.m. No estimate of damage was given. The fire is still under investigation. (Virgil Shipley)
