Mount Vernon Middle school students are discovering that keeping fit can be fun. Through a Carol White Physical Education Program grant, the old auxiliary gym has been transformed into a dedicated wellness room, full of age-appropriate exercise equipment.
Mount Vernon High School’s health policies and related programs have earned it a gold level rating in the 2009-10 Buckeye Best Healthy School “competition.”
Keith Miller of Danville was named the Danville-Howard Turkey Festival Grand Marshal for this year’s parade. The pinnacle of the festivities is the parade, which will take place on Saturday, June 19, at 5 p.m.
A chase throughout the south end of Mount Vernon on Wednesday morning ended peacefully when the driver, trying to elude officers, pulled into a business.
