Mishap lands glider pilot in power lines
This tangle of cloth in the power lines is the canopy from a powered paraglider. The pilot, John Vining of Mount Vernon, misjudged an emergency landing and flew into the lines. He had minor injuries. (Virgil Shipley)

Supply drive
Fredericktown Spanish 4 students were honored May 21 for their participation in a household supply drive led by the Knox County Board of Developmental Disabilities to support Interchurch Social Services. The students collected a truck overflowing with household goods to help low income families; Peppy’s Pizza & Subs provided food for a pizza party to honor their efforts.
