MOUNT VERNON — Tuesday’s boil advisory, in effect for consumers in the north end, has been lifted. The area includes Wooster Road from Ann Street to Sychar Road including Yoakum, Oak Drive, McGibney, Stutz, Old Orchard, Grandview, Taylor Road, Decatur, Emmett Drive, Marma and Northgate; North Mansfield from Calhoun Street to McKenzie Road and North Mulberry Street from Calhoun to Northridge. The area also includes Shirley Avenue, James Street, Buena Vista, Crestview, Miller Avenue, Rose Avenue, Kimberly and Oakway, Longitude Drive, McKenzie Road, Grange, Fearn, Pearl, Brook Run Court, Clinton Road, Snowden and Upper Fredericktown Road; all of Avalon Road up to and including the Mount Vernon Developmental Center.

This was due to a blown joint in the high pressure vault on Sanitarium Road. As a precautionary measure, all residents in this area who were without water should bring their water to a rolling boil for a minimum of two minutes to ensure safety for consumption. This procedure should be followed until the advisory is lifted.

The second boil advisory, for all of Eastmoor Drive, has also been lifted. Door hangers were not placed in the affected area. Any questions may be directed to the Mount Vernon Water Department at 393-9504 during business hours, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
