KCCC graduates 16 in medical assisting, billing programs
The Knox County Career Center held its graduation ceremony Thursday for students in the Medical Assisting and Medical Insurance Billing program. Special awards were presented to Valene Thayer, Medical Assisting graduate for academic excellence and perfect attendance; Lisa Smith, Medical Insurance Billing graduate, for academic excellence; Debra Nauman, Medical Assisting graduate, for exceptional initiative award; and Patricia Porath, Medical Insurance Billing graduate, for exceptional initiative award. Butch Fisher, Mount Gilead aerial agricultural application pilot, was busy Thursday spraying fertilizer on corn fields around Mount Vernon. He was spraying a field just north of Mount at Wooster and McKenzie roads on Thursday morning. Zooming up at the end of a spray run close to the ground, and a high-banking turn around, then diving back down on the field, Fisher puts on a spectecular close-up air show. (Virgil Shipley)
