  • June 17, 2010 10:19 am EDT

MOUNT VERNON — The Mount Vernon Water Department will be replacing a fire hydrant today, weather permitting.

A boil advisory will be issued for the area affected by the hydrant replacement, which is both sides of Curtis Street between North Sandusky Street and North Mulberry Street. Door hangers will be placed on the affected homes on the actual date of the replacement and will also be hung to notify residents when the advisory has ended.

Residents are advised to bring the water to a rolling boil for at least two minutes prior to consumption. Call the water department at 393-9504 with questions.
