FREDERICKTOWN — “We started 18 hours ago to fight the disease that never sleeps,” Knox County 2010 Relay for Life Chairman Jody Rutter told a group of tired participants Saturday morning.
Many in the group had gone without sleep Friday night, as walkers made laps around the Fredericktown High School track all night to raise money for the American Cancer Society.
This year’s event raised $175,466, exceeding the organizers’ goal of $130,000.
