  • Bladensburg gets boost from CDBG change

  • June 22, 2010 11:01 am EDT

MOUNT VERNON — The hamlet of Bladensburg will be the beneficiary of budget business conducted by the Knox County Board of Commissioners on Monday.
The board passed a resolution to move the Bladensburg Sanitary Sewer Improvement project from fiscal year 2009 to fiscal year 2010. The project funding is through Community Development Block Grants, and shifting the project resulted in more money being available for the work. Amy Schocken of Community Development Consultants told the commissioners the Bladensburg funding should be in place by September, with bids going out in the fall and construction to occur in 2011.
