MOUNT VERNON — Two full-time and two part-time employees were added to employment figures in Knox County after Fast Eddy’s Ground Maintenance expanded to provide sales and service.

“About a year ago, we developed this as a five-year plan. We pulled it off in eight months,” said Greg Labraney, general manager of Fast Eddy’s.

The progression just seemed like the logical next step, said Labraney.

“We’ve been in the lawn business for over 10 years,” he said. “We’ve been purchasing and servicing our own stuff; we expected selling to be the next thing.

“We can service everything we sell and any piece of lawn and garden equipment,” he said.

Fast Eddy’s is also an authorized service provider for products under warranty by many manufacturers.

The new showroom is “state of the art,” according to Labraney, and will feature the latest in home and garden equipment from a variety of manufacturers.

Customer satisfaction is the main goal for the new expansion, he said, including service discounts for customers waiting for parts to have equipment fixed.

Although there are several similar sales and services business already in Knox County, Labraney said he isn’t worried about the competition.

“There is plenty of work for everyone,” he said. “Besides, we don’t all offer the same products.”

The showroom, at 19280 Coshocton Road, is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturdays, 8 a.m. to noon.

The business is owned by Eddy and Jamie Stewart.
