The board also gave special recognition to junior high science teacher Matt Proper. Superintendent Dan Harper received a letter from AEP Ohio commending Proper for teaching energy concepts and energy efficiency strategies.

In other actions regarding personnel, the board granted the retirement request of middle school dean of students Ralph Fusner, employed Marie Strouse as a regular bus driver and advanced Sabrina Piper to the master’s level on the salary schedule. It also reassigned fourth-grade teacher McKenzie Payne to the junior high English position, accepted a list of substitute teachers, issued a number of extended service contracts and approved the current salary schedule for the 2010-11 school year.
