  • Something for everyone at USA Days festival

CENTERBURG — There was a little something for everyone Friday night at the Centerburg Heart of Ohio USA Days Festival. There was a cruise-in of classic and antique cars, a British Invasion rock group and Jack Scott, a well-known rockabilly singer.

Scott’s signature style is rockabilly/country, but his hits were all crossover songs on the pop charts.

British Invasion covers the works of the seminal British groups from the 1960s and ’70s. This includes The Animals and the Zombies and everything in between. Then there are the Beatles.

British Invasion consists of Evan Baisden, vocals; Paul Bailey, guitar and keyboard; Paul Meutesman, drums; Tony Burlingame, bass; and Mike Clark guitar.

The group has done its homework. Group members are very accomplished musicians and sounded remarkably like the Beatles, right down to the phrasing and accents, which were not overdone.

The crowd got into the act when the group encouraged it to sing along with “Yellow Submarine.”
