CENTERBURG — Darryl Gatlin took a large crowd at the Centerburg USA Days Festival on a patriotic trip back in time.

Gatlin, along with his partner, Andrea Ison, performed country, rock and inspirational songs from the 1950s through today. They also sang live during the fireworks display that went on following their show.

Gatlin did most of the early singing, performing a mix of country and rock hits that got the crowd going. Ison then joined in on some duets before breaking out a few tunes of her own. She was a huge hit with the crowd, especially some of the younger girls in attendance, who followed her around the stage, dancing, clapping and singing along.

The pair sang songs from Lady Antebellum, Sugarland, Taylor Swift, Jimmy Buffet and Neil Diamond before going into a medley of tunes from the 1950s through today. The medley was cut a bit short due to to a quick shower, but the duo picked right back up and got the large crowd rocking prior to the 30-minute fireworks display.

Gatlin and Ison were just one highlight of the final night of the festival. New Outlook got the crowd dancing early with its mix of bluegrass tunes.

New Outlook is headed by husband-and-wife team Lori Lyn and Brad Lambert on bass and banjo. Cecil Jackson Jr. joined in on guitar, while Corey Osborn chimed in on the mandolin.
