FREDERICKTOWN — Baked goods, cheese, honey, maple products and more were available on the square in Fredericktown on Thursday afternoon at the Fredericktown Farmers Market, held each Thursday from 3 to 6 p.m.
“We’re here every Thursday from May through October,” said Bill Van Nostrand, who organizes the Farmers Market with his wife, Carol. “This is our fourth year here, and we’re hoping to add more vendors, mainly in the produce lines.”
Any vendor from Knox County may come with a display, but must attend a class on learning how to bake goods and handle produce, according to Van Nostrand.
“You must also have labels on your food products listing the ingredients in the product,” he said. “So this is not any fly-by-night outfit.”
Tawnie Kessler was on hand with her display of maple syrup products from Willow Creek Farm.
“We have a 100-acre farm where all our products come from. We make everything with the old-fashioned bucket system,” she said.
