Art brings transformation

Artwork created by children at the Children’s Resource Center was recently auctioned at The Village Network’s Celebration Day. Artists were not only able to show off their talented pieces but were rewarded with a portion of the sale.  (Samantha Scoles)

Taking out a fence

Jesse Roush, 18, Fredericktown, was taken to Knox Community Hospital as a precaution after driving her 1988 Ford Bronco off Ohio 229 three miles west of Mount Vernon at 7:20 a.m. Wednesday. She told the Ohio State Highway Patrol fog and traffic caused her to drive off the right side of the road. The truck jumped over a culvert and took out a string of fence and post before coming to stop against a post. She was wearing her seat belt. Rolls-Royce interns help restore history

Rolls-Royce interns volunteered to help restore the Woodward Opera House as a community service project. They are tearing down an original brick wall and preserving the brick materials to be used later throughout the building.  (Alan Reed)
