County hears option for recycling center

Barn fire

Firefighters look over the corner of Mark Burchett’s barn that caught fire at 11841 Airport Road around 6 this morning. The Homer Fire Department responded at about 6 a.m. and called for mutual aid with tankers from Centerburg and Utica, and and engine and firefighters from Mount Vernon. The fire was confined to the northwest corner of the building and was quickly extinguished. Homer Fire Chief Randy King said the rest of the building and contents were heavily smoke damaged. The cause of the blaze is undetermined at this time.  (Virgil Shipley)

Danville hires new police officer

Marshall’s passion strong after 50 years at dragway
