  • July 22, 2010 10:51 am EDT

MOUNT VERNON — The Mount Vernon Police Department investigation has concluded the shooting out of a MOTA bus window on June 28 was accidental.

According to Detective Cpl. Matt Dailey, two juveniles were shooting a pellet gum from a residence on North Sandusky Street, aiming at utility pole on the east side of the street. The juveniles did not see the MOTA vehicle as it drove down the path of the pellet gun and accidentally shot out the window.

The completed report will be submitted to the Knox County Prosecutor’s Office for review and possible charges.
