MOUNT VERNON — A new face topped market lamb awards this year when Hannah Moreland won Grand Champion.
“Everyone told me [the lamb] looked good enough to win, but I didn’t believe it,” Moreland said. “I’m so excited.”
Judge Steve Myers confirmed that Moreland’s lamb, Kokamo, was deserving of the title.
Examining the lambs for proper extention of the neck, a clean chest, square hips and top, and good muscle mass in the hind legs, Myers affirmed that Moreland’s lamb was “very balanced” in all areas of examination and that the different components of the lamb “tied together nicely when he moved.”
