  • Settlement in civil suit still not signed

  • July 29, 2010 10:34 am EDT

MOUNT VERNON — Despite reports by other media outlets, there has not been a settlement in the Doe family versus John Freshwater civil lawsuit.

Doug Mansfield, attorney for the plaintiffs, told the News this morning the reports of a settlement are premature.

“They’re wrong,” he said. “A settlement has not been signed.”

Mansfield also said the oral hearing slated for today regarding sanctions against Freshwater and his lawyer Kelly Hamilton is expected to take place as scheduled.
