MOUNT VERNON — Dairy cattle are not sold in the annual junior fair sale of champions. Instead, a basket of dairy products is auctioned off at the sale, and the proceeds are divided between all dairy exhibitors. David Alden’s Supreme Champion Dairy Cow, handled by Brendan Urban, represented the species at the sale.

A consortium of bidders pooled their funds to purchase the dairy products, and therefore donated a total of $2,975 to the dairy exhibitors. They include: Knox County Dairy Service Unit; John McCann, Bulk Milk Hauling; Didinger & Son Inc.; Cathy and Ray Adamski; Seed Consultants; Richard and Nancy Montgomery; Miller’s Hardware; Keen Well & Pump; Killbuck Savings Bank; Central Ohio Farmer’s Co-op; Jelloway Valley Equipment Inc.; Robert and Joyce Brown; Zelkowitz, Barry & Cullers Ltd.; Knox County Farm Bureau; and Danville Feed & Supply.
