  • Tractor accident turns fatal

UTICA — The victim of a tractor accident which occurred Thursday on Pleasant Valley Road has died.
According to a press release issued Friday afternoon, the Licking County Sheriff’s Office responded to 12926 Pleasant Valley Road in reference to a tractor accident. Upon arrival, it was determined that Ralph Hughes had been standing at the rear of a Massey Ferguson tractor working on the three-point hitch. The tractor was not running, but apparently did roll backward over Hughes.
The Bladensburg Fire Department transported Hughes to Knox Community Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Hughes will be be laid to rest on Monday. See Page 3A for more details.
