CENTERBURG — The Centerburg Village Council met with Knox County Sheriff David Barber on Monday night in executive session during the village council meeting, to discuss the selection process underway for a KCSO deputy to fill a vacancy for one of the three officers assigned to the Centerburg area.

“Everybody’s aware that we’re down to two deputies, I asked Dave if he could come down and let us know where we’re at this point,” Mayor George Shaw told council members before adjourning into executive session to discuss the personnel matter.

After several minutes of discussion, the executive session adjourned, with no action taken.

Barber said the village administration had requested the change in personnel.

“They requested a change which they are entitled to according to their contract, so we have been going through the application process,” Barber explained after meeting with council.
