  • Fredericktown council approves replacement levy

  • August 5, 2010 10:47 am EDT

FREDERICKTOWN — The Fredericktown Village Council approved Resolution 2010-18 for a 1.5-mill, five-year property tax replacement levy to be placed on the November ballot when they met Monday evening at town hall. The current levy for village operations expires this year. The replacement levy would generate $53,000 over five years.

Also approved at Monday’s meeting was Ordinance 2010-17 repealing Ordinance 2008-07 which prohibited truck traffic over the bridge on Montgomery Road within the village until the bridge was properly repaired and upgraded. Repairs were recently completed on the bridge, and Knox County Engineer Jim Henry has declared the bridge to be safe for the posted load limit.

Council will next meet Monday, Aug. 16, in council chambers.
