MOUNT VERNON — Summer is drawing to a close and school is just around the corner. School district personnel have been busy preparing for the students — cleaning the buildings, assembling supplies, finalizing schedules, and preparing lessons and educational materials.
Since some schools have adjusted student dress codes for this school year, students are reminded to check their school’s handbook to make sure they have the appropriate attire.
A list of starting dates and regular school session times are as follows:
•Centerburg: Wednesday, Aug. 25 — Elementary school, 8:30 a.m. to 3:10 p.m.; Kindergarten morning session, 8:30 to 11:20 a.m.; afternoon session, 12:20 to 3:10 p.m.; High school/middle school: 7:38 a.m. to 2:47 p.m.
•Christian Star Academy: Tuesday, Aug. 24; 8:45 a.m. to 4 p.m.
•Danville: Tuesday, Aug. 24 — Elementary school, including kindergarten, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Middle school and high school, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
•East Knox: Tuesday, Aug. 24 — Elementary, including kindergarten, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; Middle school and high school, 7:35 a.m. to 2:20 p.m.
•Fredericktown: Monday, Aug. 23 — Elementary, grades one through five: 8:50 a.m. to 3:25 p.m.; Kindergarten morning session, 8:50 to 11:25 a.m.; afternoon session, 12:50 to 3:25 p.m.; High school and middle school, 7:50 a.m. to 2:25 p.m.
