MOUNT VERNON — A new Indian restaurant is planned to open soon at 222 S. Main St. in downtown Mount Vernon.
Formerly the home of the “for rent” facility Two Twenty Two and Sweet Williams, Bayleaf India Bistro will be open for business around the end of August, according to co-owner Raj Gupta.
“It will be exclusively Indian cuisine,” said Gupta, who will own the business along with partner Rakesh Kapil.
Gupta owns an additional location of Bayleaf at Polaris Parkway in Westerville, which has been doing business since 2007. “We have a strong existing customer base,” said Gupta.
“We have many customers come to the Polaris location from Mount Vernon, and now we can serve the employees at Rolls-Royce and other area businesses, meeting their needs with high-quality Indian food.”
A large variety of lunch and dinner entrees will be offered, as well as carryout and catering opportunities.
Visitors can choose from numerous main dishes, appetizers, vegetarian dishes, soups, salads and desserts. Bayleaf will also have a liquor license, according to Gupta.
