Lending a hand
Members of the Centerburg High School football team did some volunteer work Thursday afternoon when they unloaded and spread 6,000 pounds of rubber tire mulch at the playground at the Centerburg Head Start. “We wouldn’t be able to send the kids outside to play if this weren’t done,” said Lauren Bennett, family and community specialist at Head Start. Use of the rakes and shovels was provided by United Way. Use of a Bobcat loader was provided by Centerburg Local Schools. “The boys have done other projects this summer like cleaning up after storms for area residents and working at the Knox County Fair,” said CHS head football coach Jim Stoyle.
